It’s great to be back says Colin

BACK IN BUSINESS: Colin Smith opens his doors after last year's floods.

A POPULAR Spa butcher, who suffered a heart attack after finding his business swamped by last year's flood troubles, has opened his doors for business again.

Colin Smith welcomed customers to Hereford House last Thursday after 35 weeks of closure.

Colin had a heart attack after discovering that his store was flooded in July last year. He had also been fighting to save his Ombersley home from flood water the previous evening.

After re-opening the shop doors he said: "I am really excited. I am just as excited now as I was when I was a 15-year-old boy. I have never disliked by job.

“It has been a long hard road back, first with the floods, then the heart attack. But it is very interesting to start from scratch and great to be open again.”

"The welcome back has been wonderful. I have had people bring me flowers and champagne and one woman brought me a cake. You can't buy that, it is fabulous."

Colin added: "It has been a long hard road back, first with the floods, then the heart attack. But it is very interesting to start from scratch and great to be open again."

Colin's story was also heard by HRH Prince Edward, The Earl of Wessex, when he visited the High Street in January.
