Claims go-ahead
A Droitwich personal assistant has been told she can go ahead with compensation claims after accusing the firm's management of treating her unfavourably as a part-time employee.
Pat Croton, of West Park Road, Droitwich, had been employed by Clarke Roxburgh Insurance Brokers Ltd of Bell View Terrace, Malvern.
She sought the go ahead at a Birmingham Employment Tribunal preliminary hearing to seek compensation for the unauthorised deduction of wages, constructive unfair dismissal and for "unfavourable treatment" claim.
Mrs Croton said she wrote a grievance letter complaining about her situation, but that it had not been dealt with.
She said she became unhappy with the situation, that she resigned, prompting her claim for constructive unfair dismissal. The firm said Mrs Croton's appraisal did not justify a bonus scheme and that the management had asked her to reconsider her resignation.
The firm added that she had agreed to monitor the situation regarding the bonus until after her next appraisal and pointed out that no discrimination was involved.
Tribunal chairman Frances Monk said Mrs Croton could go ahead with her three claims at a full hearing later this summer.
